Trivium Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom Concert reviews
An Electrifying night for Long Island
The event was defined by the final fight, with every Long Island fighter losing. The home crowd, all of their hearts with Chris Weidman, was absolutely ablaze after watching. The winners were honorable, and the losers did so with grace; all of the fighters put up great performances. The crowd really made the event, with amazing synergy in knowing when to boo or ooh and ah. Overall, the event was good, but every fight was more exciting than the last. When Weidman walked out, the crowd was literally deafening; I don't even know what song he walked out to. The main fight itself was an emotional story of twists and turns. A frightening near-knockout at the end of round one set the crowd into a spiral. Every takedown ignited the crowd again. Wiedman finally locked in an arm triangle, and the whole stadium was on their feet, screaming at Gastelum to tap out. "Let's Go Wiedman!" was chanted almost non-stop, and I couldn't help from joining in the chant. When he finally did, I saw the most emotion I'd ever seen from a crowd that size. Incredible event! It's hard to put into words the excitement we felt.
